8 months

So this little cutie is 8 months old! He is growing up so fast. I have been told alot lately that he looks more like a toddler and less like a baby these days. I kind of agree. What a blast Mr. Colton and I have been having. He is just the most amazing kiddo. Poor little guy has has been sick and not himself lately. Yesterday though the bubbly and fun little colton returned, thank goodness. It was really starting to ware on me.

Thank you to all the amazing people who have kept us in your prayers, we cannot thank you enough. I also want to ask for your continued prayers.  So last week I took Colton into the Dr because he just had a list of problems. High Fever, rashes, some eye problems and just not being himself. So the base Dr sent us to Billings, Mt to see a children's ophthalmologist. In case you are not familiar with MT geography that is a 3.5-4 hr drive. So I was able to get an appointment that week or wait till August. August!?! Yeah, so I got on the road with the little guy and we got in last week.  He is having a problem with right eye. Most people don't notice it and usually think its his left eye if they do, and it more apparent when he is sick. I forget the technically name but he can't look all the way up, he just makes up for it by lifting his chin up all the time when he is looking up at your. Poor guy we are so tall he is always looking up. Just throws his balance off when he is trying to sit and things like that. Anyways, we go back in September. They said it could fix its self but not likely. So they will either try a patch, glasses or maybe even surgery.  So only time will tell. I was an emotional wreck and was so worried about having to make huge decision with out jeremy. But after going to the Dr I actually felt better. We will continue to see the eye Dr for quite a while now and so starts another long journey.  It has been a long couple week with little sleep with a sick little guy and driving all over the state. So glad happy little colton is back! Thank you again for the continued prayers and we just ask to keep sending a few our way. Thanks!

So in between Colton being sick we also ventured up to Kalispell, MT for the Montana Spartan Race. It was a BLAST! Now with that being said it was also challenging at some points. It was a 5.2 mile run with 38 obstacles along the way.  The views were amazing and the team aspect was so much fun. If you didn't complete the obstacle you had to do 30 burpees. Needless to say I had to do 90 burpees. I think i might even try to do one in CA in the winter. If you have the chance you should sign up you won't regret it. There is fire you jump over and walls to climb and just tons of fun to be had. I will try to post a picture. An added bonus is there is an AMAZING ice cream shop in Kalispell that we hit up after the race. Plus the Flathead area is just gorgeous.

Happy 8 months little guy!

On mothers day Colton and I just had to drive back to Great Falls so we took a quick stop in Whitefish to grab breakfast at a little cafe and then went to Glacier National Park for a few minutes before heading home. It was a relaxing and fun day. The park still isn't really open so there is practically no one there and still some great views. It was so much fun just hanging out with Colton. Jeremy sent me a cool key chain from Colton and Jeremy and my friends were sneaky and sent a card from colton with his hand prints on it. I LOVED it! Jeremy also nominated me for a photo shoot and we won! I feel like I won even more just by reading the sweet letter he sent in for the nomination. I was truly blessed with the best husband and best friend in the whole world. If you check out my facebook page I was tagged in it. Anyways best mothers day, hands down.

7 months!

I feel like Ik just wrote a post yesterday for Coltons 6 months picture! I would say that month went pretty fast...well at least today I say that. I am so excited for the fall to just get here but at the same time I hate to see my little man grow so fast. So here are a few things about Colton this month!

- He still sleeps pretty good! Usually all night from about 8-6. The last post didn't spoil that...lets hope this one doesn't either.
- He can roll any and every which way. He is constantly rolling everywhere.
- He is into a phase were if you laugh he just laughs back at you...it is so fun and makes any bad day instantly better.
- He still chats alot....usually dada. I have tried to talk him into saying mama no such luck so far. His voice has also gotten lots louder.
- He is still in 9 month clothes. I think he is around 29"-30"
- He is that kid that loves blankets...doesn't have to be a specific one. Just loves to always have a blanket and cuddle with it. He could care less about pacifiers, no interest.
- He still can't sit with out some help
- He has been eating alot more solids. He usually eats either a fruit or veggies twice a day.  He is a really good eater and loves lots of different things. This week we made our own pouches that we can take on go and he loves them. His favorite is Broccoli/Peas/Pear.
- He has learned to fake cough- yeah he is dramatic at times

He has the nose scrunch down

He has 2 teeth in this month!

Not the best color but hey its on my phone- Colton is sporting a Bow Tie

First time swinging at the park...he LOVED it!!

I realize he looks like a flying nun and also like he has a cape (he is small for the swing) but he was having so much fun and you can see the smile on his face...so cute!

Getting so big. This is his attempt at feeding himself...he is actually decent at it.

This was when I had to realize that he is getting bigger and maybe a little to big for his swing. When he can reach the birds and make the motor stop I think it may be time to move on :(

My cutie sporting a mustache

Trying to pick up his puffs...he is getting so much better. He can pick them up and get them to his mouth just cant always figure out how to get them in his mouth.

I understand this isn't a picture of Colton but I took a floral class and thought I would include the pictures. It was so much fun. They play music and have snacks and wine while the teacher shows you how to make an awesome arrangement. It was a nice night out.

6 months

post signatureSo if I accidentally post this pre-edit it is because I have a very curious little boy sitting on my lap helping post this. He finds the computer to be very interesting. Luckly he also finds me sewing entertaining too. That works out well for both of us. Anyways the little man is just growing so fast and changing so much. He is such a blast and always wish I could spend more time with him.  Here is a little info about him:

6 MONTHS

The Facts:
 weighs 18lbs 12 Oz - 73%
 height  27.25 inches-  79%
 head     45 cm          -  82%

Mr Colton is getting quite the personality. He is an absolute blast and makes me laugh so much everyday.

- He is sleeping alot more (writing this post better not curse that..lol). On average he sleeps around 8-9 hrs every night. I am very thankful for that. He does sleep in complete silence though. If you play music he will not sleep as long. He doesn't have to be swaddled any more and if you play his projector (thanks anne marie) he is usually asleep by the time it finishes.

- He is a morning person. That is something we do NOT have in common but I am getting use to it. :)

- He still can't really roll over...he did 2 times tonight on his own from his belly to his back. He can't do      it all the time though. He is so close just isn't all that interested.
- He still is really chatty
- He is in 9 months clothes now- He is to long for 6 months
- He loves his toys- Sophie and the rings that link together seem to be the favs.
- He started swimming lessons and seems to be doing pretty well. He is always so tired and will practically fall asleep in his highchair once we get home.
- He has started solid foods- likes Rice Cereal and Oatmeal. The last couple weeks we started on real foods and so far he likes Bananas and Avocados. Not a fan of carrots or green beans but we will keep trying. He starts laughing if you talk to him or smile and then that equals a big mess. He just cracks me up
- He is not a big fan of bouncers...well if he has to do the work. He loves it if you bounce it for him, other that that he will just play with the toys and when he is done...he is DONE! lol
- He is a very happy and laid back baby. I say this and not everyone believes me. Let me explain a little. Its not that he isn't capable of rolling over or bouncing he just doesn't feel the need to. During swim  class they have a floating mat they place on the water. You then put your baby on the mat and they splash a little water on them. Most kids hold there heads up and look around and enjoy the time maybe give a little laugh or two. Not Colton. He finds this as the perfect time to nap. You lay him on the mat and he stretches out his arms and turns his head to the side and starts to close his eyes. I guess you could say he is relaxed in the water. Funny little guy.  Like I said he is just a very laid back baby. I feel so thankful for that and pray he stays laid back for awhile. I love that he is always willing to offer smiles and is just a happy little guy. Well most the time...all babies have their moments.
- He has been going to Daycare (not really- more like a nanny). A friend of ours is watching him during the day. She is the sweetest and so good with him. We are blessed and I know Colton is just loving it and getting such great care. I never have any worries! She is the best. She also has a son only a week older than Colton. So its like twins.... I can imagine she has some long days.

Getting so big...already using his highchair and loving it!

Oh Colton...why so serious

About ready to try his first "real" food

You would think he liked it by the smile on his face, not so much.

 Loving those toes

I know his ear is smashed and looks funny in this picture but his face is priceless,
kind of like he got caught.

4 Months Old!

post signatureTime for another update! Its been way too long but that's seems to be a trend. We have been pretty busy here in Montana. We celebrated Christmas here at home and had a pretty good time. Just missing that special person. So the holidays, birthdays and anniversary will just have to be celebrated next year. Did I mention I am ready for the year to be over. :) I would have to say there are some pretty amazing people out there who are always willing to help me out and those that remind me i am loved and can do this. Thank you to all those amazing people. I will never be able to thank you enough or repay you for all your kindness.  Now there are those few comments I get that drive me nuts but I usually look past them. I figure people just don't know what to say to me..maybe?!? Like "Don't worry the year will go fast". I have spent a year apart I just have a little more responsibility this time. It usually comes from someone that is not in the military and has never had to do it. Trust me I have some friends that have been through it and I am totally love talking to them and just hearing their support. I also get the "your tough it will be ok". I try to look at this as a complement. That people truly believe that and they think I can do what i sent my mind too. Honestly I don't think I am all that tough...just don't have any other choice. So I have to make do with what I have. I love that new song by Gary Allen. I think it goes like this.." Every storm runs out of rain, just like every night time turns into day." Something close to that. I LOVE it. This storm will run out of rain. Thankful I am able to go visit and that Colton is a wonderful baby and all the love and support that we have. Ok so enough talking I will give you a little update about how Mr Colton is.

4 Months!!!!

Here are a few facts:
- Colton sleeps in his own crib (has since day he came home) and we recently had to put bumpers on cause he is a mover in his sleep. You wake up and will find him at the top of his crib. He has slept longer the last few days but usually 5 hrs is the max he sleeps at one time. He is also a morning person like Jeremy and is usually always up by 6.
- He has learned he has a voice and sometimes will just babble away
- He can't roll over yet (can get on his side), he can hold is head up really well
- He wears 6 months clothes and 9 months onesies at night
- He loves to chew on his fingers all the time...he is starting to teeth and has starting the drooling phase
- He LOVES bath time! He splashes in the water constantly and gets real excited
- His favorite book is either his dinosaur books or Goodnight Gorilla
- He still has cradle cap but we are working on it- The pediatrician has us trying new formula (Soy) because they are afraid he might have some form of eczema. We will see though and we have a few things to experiment with.
- He loves having his Clothes and Diaper changed as well as getting in his car seat (hope that lasts)
- He is really social - he loves someone to be around him all the time. He likes to be right near us when we eat dinner...etc.
- He loves his ball that has tons of holes in it. Probably his favorite toy...he can hold onto it and shake it

He is such a good little boy and we are so blessed to have such a cute and good little guy. I thank the lord every night for the blessing he has given us. LOVE HIM!

For his 4 month check out he was:
Weight     16 2.4 lbs - 71%
Height      26.9 in     - 96%
- needless to say I think he might be a tall little boy

He has figured out that he has toes this week!

Love this little guy!
