The many faces of Colton

Well it's been a little while since I have written, so I figure it's time for an update. We just love having Colton around and fall more and more in love with him everyday. We are adjusting to having a new little one and truly think he is a blessing. Jeremy has started back at work this last week so there has been even more adjustment.  We are all getting the hang of things and trying to get into a routine.  I figured this post that I would just share a lot of the pictures I have of Mr Colton and maybe it will give you a look into what his little personality is like.  I don't really think the camera really portrays what he looks like the best but that it ok. He got some professional pictures done last week and we can't wait to see how they turned out. He was such a trooper and the photographer was just fantastic!

So one of the most common comments we hear is "He looks just like Jeremy!". Looks like my prediction was right and I agree he looks just like him. Lets just hope he is not as stubborn. (Sorry sweetie...like I have room to speak ). So here is my many photos to try to she what he is like...enjoy.

So Colton often has a hat on and usually prefers to hold onto it. He will pull it down over
his eyes sometimes or just hang out with it. He likes to hold onto things a lot...like his
wubbanub (horse next to him), your fingers or blankets!

Wow his hair is not looking good in this picture but this is his face after he eats. Yes
he is somewhat dramatic and will just place his hand on his cheek. This is the precursor to passing out!

This is his peaceful little sleep. He still fits in Newborn clothes at the moment. He is almost to long but as you can see he never likes to put his legs in the holes for his legs so we don't really have to switch to a bigger size quite yet.

This is his scared or not to thrilled face! LOL This one makes me laugh. Its not the most flattering of him but is totally his personality.  Once again the hands up by his face.

First glimpse of trying to smile!

Just a cute picture!

Like I said he always sleeps or has his hands by his face. It was even this way in my ultrasound pictures. This one makes me laugh cause he just set his little hand right on his nose to sleep. What ever floats your boat little one.

My common sleeping pose...grabbing onto his neck of his sleeper

Hands by the face again...its a comfort thing for him

This is how he feels about car rides! lol

His serious face

Often when he is stretching or when he is sleeping just raises one hand in the air for no reason.

Ok so I think I may have bored your enough with all my random picture postings. I will try to get some better photographs on the next post and hopefully give you some more information on how things are going. These are just random pictures from my phone that I have dumped onto here. Sorry about the quality again. Thanks again as always for checking in and for your continued prayers.

Here are some of the professional pictures that were put on Facebook! I absolutely LOVE them!

Meet Colton Max Wray!!!

Well I will try my best to continue with my blog...we will see how this goes.

First I would like to introduce you to the newest little member of our family. Colton Max Wray was born on 9/9/12 at 10:59am at Benefis Hospital in Great Falls, MT. He was 21" long and weighed 6 lbs 10 oz. He is absolutely perfect and beautiful!

So here is how the story goes. Don't worry I will spare you all the details. Saturday (Sep 8th) Jeremy and I went about our normal Saturday and went and ran a few errands around town and went to the farmers market. I was exhausted so came home and took a nap for a while. We were planning on grabbing some movie theatre popcorn later that night and renting a red box (our version of a cheap date). First though we decided to go to church on Saturday and after that head to Boston's Sports bar . The fire Department had three guys leaving the department so they were having a big going away. We decided we would join them and about 30 other people there as well.  We were having a great time and someone decided to do a coin check. For the non-military people its a coin which you should carry with you. If you have one then the guy owes you a drink, if you don't have one on you then you owe them a drink. Anyways I didn't have one on me... of course. Well at the same exact time this guy slammed his coin down what do you know my water broke! Are you kidding me...this was not good timing. I thought this was suppose to happen at home or have contractions or something. So I get up really fast and run to the bathroom and tell Jeremy we need to go. Well I guess he didn't think it was that big of a deal and I had to wait for him to pay the bill and what not.  We ended up giving a guy a ride home (wasn't fit to drive) and then I drove Jeremy and myself home. Ok first off when you water breaks its not like in the movies. I was miserable to say the least. Anyways so I go home and look at my list ( I am  a list person) and grab the few things I still needed and told Jeremy I was ready to go. Well Jeremy was not, he was doing a load of laundry and wanted to wait till it was finished so he could hang the stuff up.  So I sat at the bar and finished eating my dinner. I knew once I went to the hospital all I was allowed was ice chips. So I was happy to be able to finish dinner (Jeremy was kind enough to get mine to go).  Thankfully Jeremy did the fast wash cycle and soon after we were on our way to Labor and Delivery. It was exciting yet nerve racking all at the same time. So we proceed to go to L&D and the security guy asks Jeremy and I who is in labor...really dude? Its Jeremy...no silly of course its me. So once upstairs they confirmed my water did break and sent me across the hall...to room 7121. 21 is my favorite number so I was thinking ok this will be good. I have my lucky number. Well they hooked me up to all the monitors and soon the contractions started. They were every 5 min for 1 min long. This was at about 11pm at this point. I finally asked for some IV drugs at 4 am. Why I waited that long I have no idea. At 7am the nurses said the Dr wanted to start me on Pitocin. Well I respond to very low doses of drugs. I kind of had a feeling this wouldn't take long. I had the nicest nurse ever and told her not to go to far that I was going to ask for an Epidural within the hour. She actually stayed in the room the entire time and made me feel totally comfortable. I asked for the epidural and got it an hour later... I didn't realize how long it takes for them to actually put a spinal block or whatever it is in. All I felt was a pinch and shortly after life was amazing.   I could feel anything so they had to actually turn the medicine down. Of course of all days the Air Conditioner in my room wasn't working. It was suppose to be around 69 in the room and it was 77 degrees. All the nurses and Dr said it was like a sauna. Anyways the Pitocin worked amazing and so did the epidural and 1 hour later Mr Colton was born. He was crying and being a chatty like Jeremy and I right away.  He got and 8/9 on is apgar and was doing great. I was able to take a shower a few hours later and we had many visitors that night and the next day. It was a pretty busy day for all of us. On Monday evening they released us all from the hospital and were were on our way home.

We are still getting use to days and night and life with a little one. We love him so much already and he just looks like the sweetest little angel when he sleeps. He does very well at eating and loves his wubbanub like no there is no tomorrow. He loves to have his hands by his face at all times and can always manage to un-swaddle enough to get them up by his face. He also has a very strong grip. He loves to hold on to anything and everything.  He makes the softest and sweetest little coos. We pretty much think he is something special.  We are so blessed to have in our lives and we prayed so much for him. He is more than we could have ever asked for and our prayers were definitely answered. Thank you for all those that have prayed for us and please continue to keep us in your prayers and we go through this journey! Thank you!

Here I am getting ready to head to the Hospital!
I made Jeremy take this picture...I wasn't in pain at the moment

This is right after he was born. This is before he was given a bath and right after delivery. I think we are looking pretty good. It was an amazing experience and we just love him so much already!

Coltons hospital picture. I don't think this looks like him at all...but I figure I would share anyways. They put this on the benefice web page under the web nursery...if you want the password just let me know. Its lists historical facts for the day and the price of gas and stuff like that. Looks like Colton shares a birthday with the KFC Col Sanders.

These are pictures from the Hospital room. I had a couple questions about it and figured I would post a couple pictures. At Benefis there is no Nursery so once your baby is born he never leaves your room. The only time he does is if he gets pictures and the hearing test. A parent goes with them though and they have bands that match yours and hook up to a security system.

So maybe its weird but everything is done in this room.
Except if you have a c-section. But recovery and everything is done here.

 There is colton hanging out!

We were on the 7th Floor and had a great view of the city!

I know his hat is dirty...sorry! This is how he LOVES to hold his hands. Always by his face!

This is us going home from the Hospital!
